For many marketing and content teams, the process of updating a website can feel like a game of hide-and-seek. You know the text is on the page, but you have to navigate through layers of a complex CMS interface to find the specific field, block, or "item" that governs that headline or paragraph. Once you find it, the anxiety sets in: Will this update break the site?
At Baack, we believe content agility is the antidote to this friction. We have overhauled our editing experience to solve the two biggest pain points in the content workflow: finding where content lives and seeing exactly how it will look before it goes live.
The "Where is it?" Problem
The traditional CMS UI often forces editors to disconnect from the page they are working on. You jump from the live site to a back-office administration panel, scanning through lists of content items, hoping to identify the right one by name or description. It is a fragmented experience that breaks your creative flow.
We have solved this using the Baack editor client. By bringing the editing experience directly onto the page, we eliminate the scavenger hunt. If you see the content on the screen, you can click and edit it. You are no longer managing "database items"; you are managing the experience exactly as your customers see it.
Previewing With Confidence
The second barrier to agile content is fear, the fear that a minor tweak might introduce a layout error or a broken component.
Our updated in-page editing experience includes a "Live Preview" capability that renders content instantly. When you make an edit, the Baack client re-renders the new content draft live within your page, not in a sterile admin box. Because we separate content from presentation, you can verify your changes in real-time without ever putting the production page at risk. It provides a visual guarantee that your update looks correct before you commit to publishing.
While the live view of the changed content is saved and visible to the editor only users or clients with permission to publish the new version of the content can publish the new version.
How It Works Under the Hood
This seamless experience relies on a robust integration between our editor client and our API infrastructure.
For Baack’s own page rendering, we pass the version parameter from the page draft directly to the content view API endpoint. This ensures that the rendered preview isn't just a generic reflection of the content, but an accurate representation of the current version end to end as if it was live. By passing this context through, the content view API can serve the exact draft you are working on, allowing the entire page state to be checked, validated, and polished before the editorial team finally clicks "Publish."
Publish with Assurance
Marketing teams should be empowered to move at the speed of their ideas, not slowed down by the constraints of their infrastructure. With Baack’s updated inline editing and version aware previews, we are removing the "leap of faith" from the publish button. We have also thought about making the integration of the editor as seamless as possible. Whether your developers want to render the editor in a pop over modal or as a sidebar as we have, the editor offers clear callback hooks that mean you get started in no time.
You can now edit any content type using the editor and preview live and as a whole page to publish with confidence.
